TV can be so trashy at times. I was visiting a friend who had invited me over for supper. We ended up watching (of ALL possible things) For Love or Money. Now, I don't normally watch trashy reality shows... except for occasionally The Real World or Road Rules when I had cable, or The Surreal Life (who can resist Emmanuel Lewis?) and sometimes High School Reunion last season while I was waiting for ER to come on... so I guess I do watch reality TV shows. But For Love or Money is the trashiest I've ever seen. I had no interest in other dating reality TV shows such as The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, Mr. Personality or Joe Millionaire, Meet the Folks--and I certainly don't adore this show either. But seeing how they keep on cranking them out (on all the major networks) implies that people are actually watching this stuff; I just don't get it. Things wrong with For Love or Money:
  • the guy is absurdly ineloquent for being a trial lawyer and isn't even that good loooking
  • all the girls talk all at the same time and verge on incomprehensibility
  • all they can talk about is the money.
It pisses me off just to think about what garbage this country is eating up on television. But I wonder what's going to happen next week when they go out on the boat...
