I've been tearing up my place looking for something. A few months back, I bought a book to teach myself Perl. With all the class work FINALLY submitted for the spring quarter, I thought I'd get a start on it. So a couple of days ago, I started to look for this book. I thought I had looked everywhere: through the piles of paper on and around my desk, under my bed (and behind it too), in the various stacks of papers I have scattered around my apartment. I even looked through the boxes of kitchen stuff I have. But no luck. Today, I finally found it. Already half-asleep and pining for my bed, I thought I'd give the search one last try after I got home from work this morning. I trudged across my apartment to the one place I hadn't looked. It was, of course, there--and I found it in less than a minute. So where was that one place I didn't think to look? On my bookshelf with all my other computer books. I guess sometimes the most brilliant insights come to those desperately in need of sleep.
