Summerfest kicks [insert favourite body part here]!! Listening to the music, soaking up the sights, the rays, and the occasional torrential downpour... what an event. Although the shows (such as Default and Sum 41) were great entertainment, the best part for me was the people watching. In general, I'm a pretty boring guy; my sense of titillation most often comes from the enthrallment of savouring other people's emotions. And so for me, Summerfest is great. Whether it be the exhilaration of an inline skater landing a trick, the stupor of a bumbling drunk trying to walk to the closest beer stand or the heartfelt rocking out of hordes of teens, Summerfest is brimming with emotion. So gather me up a crowd of good-looking people by the lake on a perfect summer day (and toss in a few beer-bellied alcoholics for amusement), strike up the good music--any type but country, please--and I'm all set to just sit back, enjoy the food samples and watch the "spectators" in the greatest live-action show on earth... and get a nice tan all at the same time. It sure beats going to work.
