Ok, I had my frustrating class again tonight. And thanks to a friend, I'm a lot calmer now than I was all through class and about 1/2 an hour afterward. I was fuming. I walked around the neighbourhood for over an hour to cool off. I stopped thinking about class until I started to blog--of course, now I'm pissed all over again. The chapters we covered today were mostly theoretical; he knows no theory. Consequently, he pretty much made stuff up the whole time to fit what was on the PowerPoint slides that the publisher had also provided. Unfortunately, the stuff he said didn't match the book the publisher had provided. Another thing he does that pisses me off is toss words out there just to impress. He likes to pepper his lectures with references to "Java" and ".NET" when not really appropriate. Today he even ventured to say that Java was invented in the '70s at Bell Labs. I think he was a little confused. Either that or he thinks "Java" sounds cooler than saying "C" even though that might be more historically correct. Then again, it appears he doesn't really have that much respect for correctness anyway.
