I used to marvel: How could anybody like '80s music? Then I discovered this shoutcast stream that I really liked. No, it wasn't '80s music--it was labelled "[XRM] - Alternative" and it's definitely my type of music. Almost every song that came on, I'd think ooh, this is a good song. Then I realized around 90% of the playlist was from the mid-'90s. I guess if I were born 10 years later, I'd be wondering how anybody could like the stuff that I listen to. Kids a decade younger than I am will probably speed past radio stations that play music from the '90s in a few years. I suppose that's all a part of ageing, realizing how dated one's tastes are. Seeing that '80s radio stations still exist provides a little comfort, though--at least I'll be able to age listening to good music.
