I like it when they give away free food at work. Today was free ice cream sundaes. A few months ago, it was free cheesecake; before that, it was free pretzels with cheese sauce. Supposedly, it's in appreciation of the work that we employees perform for the great Aurora. Senior managment dons aprons and serves the food all the employees, even the lowly housekeeping staff. The administrative director of St. Luke's squirted the whip cream on to my sundae. Each time I see this happen, I actually believe that management is indeed showing appreciation for the work their underlings do. But by the time the food is in my stomach, I've already forgotten their gratitude and curse management for not giving out free food more often. I can't wait for the next free food day...
