Wow. I guess there isn't as much vitality in me as I thought. ("I'm no spring chicken," as my brother would say.) I woke up this morning at 9:20 or so--around four hours after I was supposed to have awoken, just under 3 hours after I was supposed to have started work. I've missed work, but at least now I'm well rested; five hours of sleep isn't bad at all.

Just before getting up, I dreamt that, because all three Technical Specialists (my immediate supervisory level) weren't around, I was telling the Transfusion Service Co-ordinator that I wouldn't be able to come in today because I had overslept. I told her about staying very late in the computer lab working on a project for class. For some reason, in my dream, I actually had gone to the lab to tell her this in person instead of over the phone. I walked around the lab area in my dream while waiting for her and saw doughnuts on a counter in the lounge area. Even though I wasn't hungry in my dream, I was tempted to take one--or a few--as they looked really good. (I'm a glutton even while asleep.) I awoke (for real) not too long after this part of the dream. I looked at the clock, gasped, and realized it was my mind trying to tell me that I was incredibly late for work. I hurried and called the lab: The Tech Specs were unavailable so I was transferred to the Co-ordinator. Oh, and it was cinnamon buns that were on the counter. Freaky.
