I am thoroughly amused by Friendster. (I am #1661669.) I originally received my first invitation to Friendster in June of this year, but I held out. I, seemingly unlike scores of countless others, remembered the fate of sixdegrees. I thought that Friendster, like other internet fads before it, would be as short-lived as snow in Singapore. But it's still around several months later--and growing, apparently.

So now I check up on Friendster at least once a day to see if any other people now call me their "friend." I get such a kick out of finding that someone knows... someone else... who knows yet someone else... that knows... me. Life is so complete with full circles. For example, a friend from high school in Hong Kong connected to me through three exclusive pathways. He's is a friend of a friend of my cousin and the friend of a friend of two college friends. And now, as soon as Friendster decrees that "[he] is Your Friend", he will once again be my friend, too. Boy, I can't wait.
