MSOE is such a nerd school. I finally get it. Today in class we were talking about troubleshooting DNS servers. And so the program ping was introduced. The instructor pinged www.msoe.edu and my jaw dropped. The server name: enterprise.msoe.edu. I finally realized they had named all the servers after... Star Trek ships. There's concord.msoe.edu, defiant.msoe.edu, and enterprise.msoe.edu. OK, fine, there's also warp.msoe.edu, but that's close enough to be scary. (As far as I can remember, the USS Warp is not a ship, but I could be wrong.) I suppose any sane person shouldn't know these things--and I'm not proud that I do--but still. Eww. I feel like I have to go watch a couple hours of MTV or something to cleanse my brain or something.
