Yesterday when I walked home from work, I heard a couple of dogs barking. In the past, this is what has normally happened when I walk by the home across the street from my apartment building. However, yesterday was not like days past: it was freezing. I was cold even bundled up in a hooded sweatshirt and a thick winter jacket. It was -15°C (5°F) yesterday, excluding windchill. And with 16km/h (10mph) winds, it certainly felt much colder. I know dogs are built a little differently than humans: shorter appendages and a lot more furriness mean less heat loss. But still, I can't help but think they must have been freezing--two little dogs, just standing around outside without even any shelter from the wind. I wonder if the dogs would sue their owners if they could.
