Dying for a snack, I opened my fridge to see what food I had left. Hmm... vegetable dip, but no vegetables. So I opened up my freezer and pulled out some frozen broccoli. I dipped that into the dip and realized frozen broccoli is just a little too hard to chew. After microwaving it on low for 2 minutes, the broccoli had started to thaw. Dipping that into the dip, I realized the florets had become quite soggy and the texture was very unappealing. In a last ditch effort to salvage my snack of broccoli and vegetable dip, I decided to cook the broccoli completely. Three more minutes in the microwave on high and it was cooked. The broccoli tasted normal, but the flavour of cooked broccoli didn't quite complement the vegetable dip. I guess frozen broccoli with vegetable dip just plain doesn't work. The moral of the story: don't let your fridge get almost completely empty because you might get hungry at 3am.
